[Budapest][AoR] Important logistical information for the Assembly of Resistances (AoR) -Budapest/ plus program

Dear Friends and Comrades,

In addition to the previously sent logistical information I am attaching herewith for your kind perusal the planned program for AoR in Budapest from 2nd till 4th March 2018.

Welcome to the Regional Assembly of Resistances (AoR) to be held between 2nd and 4th March 2018 in Budapest in the House of Civilians- CIVILEK HÁZA (abbrev. HC).

You can find some pieces of information that will be helpful to you as you arrive in Budapest.

Airport

When you land, we will be trying to wait for you. When you finish collecting your luggage look for a person with a sign with the name of the event: AoR meeting. The person who meet you will accompany you either directly to your hotel (accomodation) or to the venue of the meeting. If you cannot see the sign, you can send SMS message to Matyas Benyik +36302524326 or Gyuri Droppa +36307001372

For those ones that are travelling by train, or bus or car, please follow the instructions herebelow to reach the event place (House of the Civilians):

Train Stations

1.) From Keleti (East) Railway station – Metro line 4 (NEW) – until KALVIN TER. Change here for Metro line 3 (BLUE LINE) until LEHEL TER

2.) From Nyugati (West) Railway Station- Metro line 3 till LEHEL TER

3.) From Déli (South) Railway station – Metro line 2 (RED LINE) until DEÁK TER – change for Metro line 3 – to LEHEL TER

Public transport ticket prices are available here: http://www.bkk.hu/en/tickets-and-passes/prices/ One single ticket price is HUF 350,- (1.15 EUR), combined ticket is HUF 450,- (1.50 EUR).

Accommodation

Please find in attachment the list of participants including your accomodation. Participants will be staying in 3 different hotels, namely:

1.) HOTEL IBIS BUDAPEST CENTRUM – 5 rooms ( 3 double and 2 single room)

It is located right in the center of Budapest near Kálvin tér. (neart Metro line M3 – blue line). Beside the hotel you will find places to eat or go for a walk.

If nobody is waiting for you at the airport or if you miss the person waiting for you, do not worry.

You can easily go to IBIS hotel by public transport, too. Bus line 100E is operated between Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Deák Ferenc tér in the city centre. A special fare applies: the “Airport shuttle bus single ticket” for the price of 900 Hungarian Forints is required for each trip.

From Deák Ferenc tér you can get to the Hotel IBIS either by TRAM number 47 or 49 until Kálvin tér (2 stops) or by Metro M3 (two stations until Kálvin tér). From Kálvin tér you can walk, it is about 150 meters to HOTEL IBIS Centrum.

If you want to come immediately to the venue of AoR ( House of Civilians) please take METRO M3 (blue line) until LEHEL TÉR. From the Metro station the venue is about 100 meters just on the other side of the square at VÁCI ÚT 50.

Ticket price for tram and Metro is 350 HUF for each means of transport. People over 65 vears of age having EU citizenship can travel free of charge in all public transport (even trains) showing up her/his passport or ID card.

2.) Hotel Williams Village Panzió – Bowling & Country Club

We have reserved:

  • 2 rooms with 2 beds,

  • 2 apartments with 5 beds,

  • and 1 apartment with 7 beds.

In the hotel, presently there is one more apartment is available with 5 beds.

All rooms have separate bathrooms. Within the apartments there are 2 or 3 rooms with one common bathroom. Pictures are available on the homepage http://www.williamsvillage.hu/en/.

Important notices: In the hotel, they don’t serve breakfast. One either must buy something at a nearby supermarket, look for a breakfast place at Megyeri út, across the Újpest Football Stadium. According to our opinion the best option is to come over to the Civilian House at Váci út 50, and eat at the market across the street.

At Williams Hotel, one can only drink beer, but only until 21:00. After that there is a silent puncture.

Keys are available after 14.00, if we will not be able to get hold of the keys, the personal will drop them at the Civilian House.

Reception service: from 10:00 until 21:00

In Williams there is a Free WiFi and free parking for cars in the courtyard.

How to get from the Williams Hotel to the Civilian house and back by public transport:

From Williams Hotel you walk 350 meters (4 minutes) until Timár utca and take bus number 196 or 204 or 104A until Újpest Városkapu (4 stops – about 5 minutes), change here to M3 replacement bus until Lehel tér.

Bus and Metro ticket price is 350 HUF (1.2 EUR) each ride. Public transport is free of charge for EU citizens over 65 years of age against showing up passport or ID card.

 

Assembly of Resistances

The AoR will take place at the House of the Civilians (CIVILEK HÁZA) az Budapest 13th district Váci út 50. in two rooms – one big plenary room with capacity of 80 people and a smaller room for Woring Group/Seminar with a capacity of max. 15 people. Outside of HC at the entrance you will see a sign of AoR

Registration starts at around 3:30 pm on Friday, March 2.
We plan to start the meeting at 5:00 pm, so please be punctual!
We will have a dinner topgether at CH at around 8:00 pm

Due to the reconstruction of Metro line M3 (blue line) the public bus replacement of METRO M3 is in service after 8:30 pm and on weekends will take you back to the hotel after dinner, likely at around 9:30 pm.

Other lines of Metro (M1,M2, M4) and trams, buses are working without any limitation.

Program

Program for the Assembly of Resistances (AoR) in Budapest

in the „House of Civilians” between 2nd and 4th March 2018

The ultimate goal of this AoR is to collectively elaborate an overarching strategy to counteract the influence of the populist far right, which is based on a perverted concept of „national security“. The final outcome should be reflected in a planification of the different activities discussed in the following three clusters by establishing a sort of an action-oriented “Roadmap” for 2018 and parts of 2019.
